Dike and Veins: Many model railroads are based on mining themes, and many mines are located on dikes and veins, where hot fluids (such as water or molten rock) have been forcefully injected into other rocks. Now you can model these fascinating geological features!

Dike 1: Our first offering in this product line is called (unimaginatively) Dike 1. Measuring 8 inches by 10 inches, it depicts a single igneous dike or mineral vein cutting across a randomly jointed rock body. Paint the dike an off-white shade, and it can represent the sort of quartz vein that 19th century prospectors hoped to find filled with gold. Paint it a dark gray, and it can be a more ordinary igneous dike, found anyplace where volcanoes have been found in the past.
